KCSCEP Summer Camp 2022

** All Summer Camps are full! We have reached our enrollment capacity at each summer camp site. You may still submit an enrollment form and be placed on waiting list. **

For 2022, KCSCEP is offering four summer camps for Kanawha County Schools students who were in kindergarten through fifth grade in the 2021-2022 school year. These camps are:

Central Summer Camp**

Flinn Summer Camp**

Elk Summer Camp**

Overbrook Summer Camp**

Dates: June 1 – August 12, 2022

Time:  7 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. Monday through Friday

Weekly Rates: $135 – 1 child, $235 – 2 children, $335 – 3 children, $30/family registration fee

  • Breakfast, lunch, and snack provided daily.
  • Weekly fee is due Monday (or the first day of the week your child attends). The fee is a weekly fee; there are no daily rates. We do not charge to hold slots when a child is not in attendance for a week (e.g., family vacation). For the first week of camp, June 1-3, the rate will be prorated at $80 for 1 child, $140 for two children, $200 for three children.
  • CONNECT/LINK child care assistance is accepted. You must present a current certificate listing the specific summer camp or you will be billed the private pay rate. If you have a certificate for Third Base or another childcare provider, you will need to call your caseworker to have it changed to the KCSCEP summer camp site. At the end of summer camp, you would request they switch it back to your Third Base or other provider.
  • The program revolves around weekly themes, swimming or water fun, guest speakers, arts and crafts, field trips, and a variety of recreational and education activities and projects supervised by experienced staff.
  • The program will be closed on June 20 (WV Day) and July 4 (Independence Day), which are holidays. No reduced rate for these weeks.
  • A Child Medical Form or similar report completed by your child’s doctor is required. Please submit with your enrollment, or turn in to the camp site director no later than the first week of attendance. If we don’t have it on file by then, your child will not be able to attend until we receive it.
  • Summer Academy Afterschool care – if your child is attending summer academy, June 6-29, (with the exception of Pt. Harmony and Weberwood summer academy programs which have on site Third Base) and you need afterschool care, you can enroll in summer camp. (See our page on Summer Academy for more information.) Your child would ride a bus to the summer camp designated for his or her summer academy, and you would pay Third Base rates for care, and have the option to continue in summer camp as of July 1 at the summer camp rates.

The enrollment packet has more detailed information about summer camp. You must submit the completed enrollment form and be approved before your child can attend. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Placement is subject to availability of space at the desire site. Submission of the enrollment form is not a guarantee of placement. You will be notified if your enrollment has been approved and space is available for your child. The $30 family registration fee would be billed to your account and due the first day of attendance, along with your weekly fee.
