“Professional
Learning Days”
Kanawha County Schools has scheduled five full “Professional
Learning Days” in the 2019-2020 school-year calendar in lieu of the ten
2-hour early dismissals we have had the last several years. These are days that students will not be in
school at all, but school professional and service staff will report for
Faculty Senate and professional development opportunities. Just a
reminder to our families that Third Base is always closed when school is not in
session for students. Our child care
licenses cover after school hours only (called Out of School Time licenses),
not full day child care, and many of our staff work during the day at a second
job and/or go to school. We wanted to
make sure all Third Base families were aware of these upcoming dates so they
can make other arrangements for child care on those days. For those families
who have CONNECT or LINK, you can contact your caseworker and get a certificate
for a second provider if you are able to find another center that can provide
care on these days. Thanks to all our
